Hi Folks, If a hedge fund is a US based fund (not an offshore based fund)... are they allowed to trade: 1.) Markets in foreign futures? 2.) Foreign stocks in foreign exchanges? I can't seem to find a definitive answer on my own. Thanks!
Certainly (assuming that their brokers make those markets available and SEC is not restricting trading at those markets for US entities). See the various markets offered by IB: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/trading/products.php?ib_entity=llc Some markets are restricted by the SEC like Korean options (??) http://www.sec.gov/divisions/corpfin/cf-noaction/2007/koreaexchange111706-reg-s-incoming.pdf
