If i hear "keep rates low for extended time" again i'll scream

    my lord every fed puppet is running around saying that day in and day out for months on end. what i'd give to shut the fed liars up

    Bernanke in this speech http://www.federalreserve.gov/BOARDDOCS/SPEECHES/2002/20021121/default.htm says that long term rates are a function of short rates and if you can credibly convince investors that rates will stay low for an extended period long rates should stay low. It appears this "extended period" rhetoric is his way of convincing investors not sell off long bonds.

    Looks like no raise in interest rates until 4th qu 2010, that's a long time away. Until then the bubble will continue to inflate, will probably be years until they raise them to at least 3%.

    s2007 wrong my friend. yes they will keep rates low but the us mkt stil crashes just as it didn't work in japan. gold did not react at all after the statement. if anything whats ironic the carry trade $ will be used to rocket oil and commodities to the moon and destroy the fed.
