I didn't go down this path to put you on the defensive. I think you have a great job and will always have employment. I just wanted to get a sense of your background in historical philosophies, humanities and the arts. I think you need to rethink your support Obama and the left or your lack of support of the opposition. There is no way you can claim to be a Ron Paul follower and support Obama in any way.
Bro we only had 2 Choices,Obama and McCain(who might have croaked and left us with Palin) Even though in the same party Ron Paul didn't support McCain. I am not a democrat,I might actually vote for Romney depending on how the next 3 1/2 years go,but i doubt Romney would ever get the nomination and a guy like Ron Paul never will
It is dangerous to be focused on the individual personality of the candidate. Political parties are an infrastructure (philosophy) that goes well beyond just the president. When you vote for a President you re really voting for 1000's of employees and appointments, Judges, prosecutors, social workers a whole political philosophy. Obama on his own seems better then McCain but look who is writing the bills, Stimulus and health, Pelouse and Ted Kennedy. Even if Palin had become President the Republicans infrastructure of Congress, lobbyist and think groups would be leading the way with policy. The strength of a President is to persuade(con) the public to agree with the philosophy of their party. Voting philosophy not personality is so important.
I used to believe that until Bush's presidency. Bush went on to spend more then every other president combined, Republicans are supposed to be fiscally responsible 9-11 happened on his watch and he started he started the Iraq war which weakened our military, Republicans are supposed to be strong on defense Bush grew the size of the government. Republicans are supposed to be for small government If the right Republican candidate comes along I will vote for them(I voted for Paul in the primaries).McCain was another Bush
Congress actually spends the money, not the Pres. And like another poster said, if you're a Paul backer, then there's no way you could back Obama. Paul is more concerned about domestic issues and the economy, and Obama's statements were absolutely 180 degrees off what anything that Paul has ever said. Certainly complaining about Republicans, and the path they've taken lately is a legitimate gripe. But seriously, it really looks to me like you revenge voted, cuz your statements make little sense to me. Time to grow up.
If you looking at spending since Reagan, anytime we increase military spending all spending seems to go up. I think it is due to Congress (both parties) extorting the President to match any military spending with additional domestic spending. Clinton reduced military spending and took the extortion play away. After 9/11 Bush had to increase military spending bringing the extortion play back into play. This spending is a problem of Congress combined with World events not necessarily one party or another.
sorry Monty, but no one has ever tested even MOST of the residents of any one state. AND remember, a lot of the southerners are retiring people from the Snow Belt. Not to mention, some states are wealthier and some are poorer. Do children of Mississippi have the same choices as the children of Connecticut? Some states are more farm & ranching rather than engineers. You don't need a master's to run a wheat farm or dairy. What about racial makeup? Immigrants or illegal immigrants? What about percentage or urban to rural? Did they all get the same IQ test? AND were the results based on small samples? I had an IQ test when 15, and I do not think we made the results public. So, how are all these samples being collected? Is the presenter of this poll a Democrat or a Republican? in other words, this is an impossible task to get an equitable reading like this. And I am a conservative.
I'm don't want to spend too much time arguing about the "scientific-ness" of the IQ chart. Every indicator has strengths and weakness. Either way, the point is that Bush was one of the worst president's EVER. You don't have to be very smart to figure that out. Revert to some of my earlier posts (try to find the Bush Resume post). I'm also a conservative. Unfortunately there was nothing conservative about Bush or the mainstream Republican party (aside social issues like abortion & gay marriage). This country is in trouble. We need a leader like Ron Paul.
