I think so too. Of course even Buffett and his team can't predict the future so they have to have some exposure long. Just like every other PM out there. That's why it's important to pick quality in the event of a sharp decline; and why I went with WMT. Plus, I think it's undervalued if the indexes do in fact continue to rise. Best of both worlds. But now that you bring it up, I would be curious to see how their current ratio of stocks to cash (and equivalents) stacks up against their historic ratio.

I think the first time I actually cared enough to look at BRK-A... it was like $11,500. I was like wtf?! That was unheard of back then. At least to me. Last time I looked it was almost 1/2 million. :banghead:

I'ma tell you a funny story...I had this dream once long ago where I was first to come upon an accident scene and Bill Gates was stuck in the wreckage. Car on fire, bad stuff. So I pull him out of car and drag him away to safety.

Bill says "Oh man, you saved my life. Here's 1000 shares of Microsoft stock as a gift."

These days, if I had that same dream again, I'ma pulling Buffet out of the car wreck! I'd rather have Buffet's 1K of BRK.A! WHOOOOO!

    lol
    Don't they make ATM machines?
Those things will go the way of the dinosaurs here pretty soon as the powers that be run a cash-free world order down our throats. Gens X, Y, and Z are too stupid to care. As long as they got that phone.

OK boomer. :) If you were born from 61-81 yer a Gen X-er. That is the generally-accepted time period to define the Gen-X. And I do not think you are over the age of 62. Yer a Gen-X! AHAHHA! Doesn't matter though, there's stupid in every gen.

I had to use ATM recently, first time in 2 or 3 months. Other then that it's always the visa mastercard.

You brought it up, not me...

"Gens X, Y, and Z are too stupid to care. As long as they got that phone..."

It is not political, it is simply a statement of fact. There is stupid in every gen.

    Went right over your head.
    Again.
it was a joke... mocking our leadership. Current and former.

You really do live in a cage of gilded semantics don't you?
Try alternating banging the left/right side of your head against a concrete block for 5 minutes daily.
See if those synapses can be rewired a little.

Hey on that #3 regarding DG... I understand what you mean in reference to the narrow aisles, but what I was talking about are aisles that are cluttered/blocked with inventory in containers (the stuff that comes off the semi's) sitting in the aisles, sometimes for weeks. I'm not kidding.

I run in and out of these things all the time, just for convenience. They're everywhere. And that is another mistaken concept the Wall Street folks have btw... these stores are anything but cheap... I get so sick of hearing these experts saying "the consumer is pinched, so they shop at DG". The only way I could see that applying is if they are so pinched they can't afford an extra half gallon of gas to get somewhere else, because it sure ass hell isn't for the prices inside.

I have written about this for 3 quarters now in Stoney's threads... from when they were at the ATH around $250. Last quarter I even directed a post to Karen F on CNBC (not that any of them read ET lol) before they reported because she had stated on one of those segments that she had added to an already large position.

Look at DG this morning. That makes 3 quarters in a row.
Once again... chalk one up for Peter Lynch's books. ;)
