Yes, but that's not what he did.

Actually, I hope he opens his Twitter again, I’ve got a buy at 950!

Yes it is. It's 100% legal for someone to accuse me of rape, yes. Just like it would be 100% legal for me to sue them for false accusations after.

Uh no, because that would go against the constitution. If you easily get hurt by what others say to you then you either need to be in a safe house or grow a set of balls and stop caring.

There's a fine line between manipulation and tweeting something childish. What if I'm a heavyweight (fund manager, CEO etc) and post something like "Is Elon Musk a fraud? Did Elon commit fraud? Did Elon meet with TSLA accountant to discuss possible jail sentences? Did Elon sell key strategic rocket technology to China?". Can I back out and say that it's just a question. It's thin ice.

Yes I agree. I think someone had weak hands and sold and is trying to point the blame on Elon musk. If you know Elon musk is a loudmouth that has the power to move stocks by saying a few words, then why did you dive into that stock to begin with?

I can't get over the sensitivity of this embarrassing country...

    No. That would be fraud.

    Very simple.

Free country. But not free to commit crimes. But free to speak ones mind? Yes indeed thank you!

Not sure why this is such a difficult concept for some elite traders. Fraud is fraud. Musk committed no fraud. He posted a poll to twitter.

Turns out he made plans to sell on September 14 and made the required notice and filings with the SEC. No fraud.

Musk was the "weak" hands haha!

He was selling Monday and Tuesday. He filed required paperwork with SEC.

yes I guess there are many “What Ifs” that can be considered fraud. But we are specifically talking about Elon and his recent tweet.

what if I went to law school? I may have been a securities attorney :D

So, whatever is in fashion at the moment at any given point in time is acceptable practice to you just because legislation says so? Fed Bankers trading bonds and currencies? CEOs moving their own stocks even though they have a material interest in their company stocks? Ponzi schemes like Herbalife just because they don't cause significant enough damage to society?

You probably live 200 years too late. The wild west where anything goes would have been the perfect setup for you. For most it was not. Free only means free as long as it does not harm and infringe on the freedom of others. That is a concept often omitted and ignored by freedom advocates.

Its fraud and market manipulation if he acted on his investment or disposal thereof prior to his tweets or if he talked down the stock and then accumulates more afterwards. And if the law does not say so then ethics and morals say so. But I guess morals and ethics have gone out of the window for most conservatives these days anyway.

By the way if you sell stock and as CEO possess information that is non public and material that you believe adversely affects the stock then you very much commit fraud and market manipulation.
