If a hedge fund had to sell everything, and remain in cash during fixed dates?

  1. Say once or twice a year, at fixed dates, to remain in cash for one or two weeks, to allow people to recover their investments (hopefully with profits).

I know this varies from year to year but, When would be an adequate fixed selloff month? Without lossing significant rallies?
    December last week?

    May, June?

  2. Sell in May, go away.......stay sober until October. Something like that?
