As a long time proponent of Avant browser I was interested to read the comparison of browsers under windows, mac and linux posted in the WinXP thread: http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html#linspeed Avant was quick but not as quick as Opera or to my surprise the new IE7. Firefox was pretty good under linux but slow under Windows. So I googled the new IE7 beta and downloaded it. Very nice. If anyone wants to try it (remember its a beta although I havent had any unpleasant surprises yet): http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/ie7betaredirect.mspx
I won't touch Microsoft, except for Windows (to run trading apps) and some Office products. I have used Opera for more than six years. Runs well except when you get up to 30 windows.
i found out there about 90 different browsers for mac and most of them free to download...da quickest is icab but very outdated..best 2 overall are camino and flock imo. check it out: http://darrel.knutson.com/mac/www/browsers.html
LOL. Or more helpfully. If you are using McAfee security stuff then don't install IE7 B2. If you do you might want to look at removing McAfee and replacing it with AntiVir
