No. The market would rebuild itself based on demand. Cars aren’t made because rich people want to make them, cars are made because consumers demand them.
In order for an economy to thrive, you must have rich people. They are the foundation of the economy and provide for others to participate and grow everyone's wealth. Without rich folks, you take away any chance for an economy to grow and the incentive for people who are not rich to try and become rich.
Well that was in the context of there was a depression to avoid. My point is wealthy people do not make the market, the market makes people wealthy.
