You know, I just don't know, I don't know how you people can turn every thread into pure shit. and just few days ago we were all so happy pointing out stupidity of stock turd and look at us now who died where, who killed who, who slept with who just try and get along Me and atticus didn't get along and now we are the best of buddies sort of like Stalin and Hitler
This is well intentioned, but the problem with hiring a CPA to audit personal account(s) (if that's what Mr Steve is speaking of) is that the CPA sees only the accounts provided by the individual -- who might be uninclined to include accounts that did poorly (I'm not speaking of Mr Steve in particular -- I have no idea what/how he trades; I'm making a general remark). Suppose you had, as would be likely, an equities account, a futures account, an options account and a FOREX account. At the end of a year or two, you can give the "CPA" the best-performing of the four to "audit". Whereas, a fund manager, who's reporting to the usual services (HFN, HFR, etc) doesn't have that wiggle room. The fund's performance reflects all trading activity.
Steve in Italian we have a saying that translates: When 3 people call you a horse, buy a saddle Seriously I really do think you need a psychologist. You obviously have some kind of emotional issues you need help with.
<b>"2) By posting information in any chat room, message board, ratings system or other interactive service that may be available to you through this site, you are not to upload, post, or otherwise distribute or facilitate distribution of any content -- including text, communications, software, images, sounds, data, or other information -- that: contains excessive profanity or vulgar language; is insulting or argumentative without merit, unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory... or otherwise violates Elite Trader's rules or policies or these Rules of User Conduct;" nkhoi, (and Baron)</b> while you were busy chiding me with your lone post in this thread, a better use of your time might have been to read the conduct rules of ET once more, slowly this time. Seen any violations of ET conduct lately? Seen any threads that have gone a little astray from topic? Felt the urge to moderate any of that? * There are plenty of sincere, terrific people inside this forum. Unfortunately, most of them are completely silent. Here is one of many: <i>"Hi Austin, I know you don't know me, but I have been a lurker on Elite Trader for probably about 2 years now. My username is (withheld), but if you were to look it up you'd notice I have 0 posts to my name. I just really don't care to be a part of the ridiculous flaming that seems to overtake 99% of all ET posts. Anyhow, I just wanted to give you kudos for being one of the very very few posters who actually contributes something positive each and every time you post. It's unfortunate that you get so much flak because you happen to run a trading service, even though I have never once seen you attempt to promote that service. You seem to look at the market and trading much in the same way that I do, although we trade different instruments (me-stocks, you-futures) with different strategies. Anyway, I just wanted to take the time to offer my sincerest appreciation of the high quality posts that you continually put forth, in spite of the circus that is ET. I have much respect for your generosity when it comes to trying to share knowledge and help others in a profession that seems to be so self-centered and egotistical. In my opinion you don't get anywhere near the respect you deserve on that site, so I wanted to make sure that you know there are people like myself out there that do appreciate it. Regards," (withheld)</i> The email is on file if Baron needs to verify. The ET member who sent that to me is a major reason I ever come back to this site. A silent majority, muffled by the vocal minority of grown men acting infantile. * Speaking on a strictly personal basis, for me individually, there is no way in hell I could have learned to trade mostly or solely from an environment like ET. It couldn't be further away from a mature, well-run learning environment. Same story, repeated endlessly. A thread begins with topic of interest. A few people exchange thoughts in positive fashion. Others troll in and trash it all to hell, nothing gets done from moderators (or Baron) most of the time. The only thread I see that has remained on course is ES Journal. Other than that, I cannot find one example that isn't hijacked or flamed to a crisp. Pure entertainment value = max number of site hits? Perhaps. A calm, rational place to glean education? Not for my style of learning. I'm going to lay odds that this post here gets zapped almost immediately, while pages of troll wars preceding it survived for days on end. That's how it usually works in here. I've also been short ES 1487.50 = out 79.50 and short 1480 = out 78 in the past 90 minutes. I'll stick to more trading and far less posting in here myself. Please carry on as you were.
I truly believe if we were to look beyond the anonymity of these online forums we'd see some really disturbed people behind many of the postings. The only reason I'm on here now is I take off the month of august and frankly have quite a buzz going tonight anticipating a month of relaxation so I find this all very humerous. About 2 years ago I had to make a rule for myself that I wouldn't get involved posting here during trading, I found it helped my emotional focus. It all seems like a bunch of guys bragging about how well endowed they are when you know they got nothing swinging.
