When are we going to be able to bet within a game Stoney? By that I mean.... say its 3rd and 7... I want odds that the Jets (will/won't) make a first down, and I want to be able to bet that from my phone. That Football league that started up and then shut down last year or the year before... they said they were going to do that. Maybe we need to find which company they were working with, even though the league is gone.... Here I found this: Alliance of American Football league, spring alternative to NFL, reveals gambling-focused strategy Scott Gleeson USA TODAY The Alliance of American Football league is betting on a unique gambling business model to bolster its viewership and engagement in its inaugural season, set to start in February – a week after the Super Bowl. The startup spring football league, which was unveiled March and is billing itself as a complementary option to the NFL, announced Monday that it will offer a gambling product that allows customers to watch a game on an app while on the same screen betting on anything from touchdowns to tackles to scores. Bettors will also have the option to bet on actual data including the speed at which a quarterback throws the football. Alliance players on all eight teams will wear sensors that will allow the company's tech team to collect live, second-generation statistics that can immediately update in-game gambling odds. The in-game betting option comes as part of a three year deal that makes MGM Resorts the official sports betting sponsor and exclusive gaming partner. MGM, which notched a lesser sponsorship deal with the NBA for the upcoming season, becomes the first sportsbook to ever own exclusive in-game betting rights for any major sports organization. Because MGM is the official licensee, it will host the gambling business on its app. The agreement with MGM comes in the wake of May's U.S. Supreme Court ruling that effectively gives state legislatures the ability to legalize sports wagering at their own discretion. Charlie Ebersol, CEO and co-founder of the AAF, said in spite of the league's relationship with MGM and emphasis on betting, "we are not a gambling organization." Ebersol told AdAge: "I believe the value proposition for us is that because of the type of data we can create and the manner in which we can capture it, we can provide the information faster to MGM and our end users than anyone's ever been able to deliver it before." Ebersol said in a news release that he expects the gambling component to "change the landscape of professional sports" and "revolutionize the sports wagering experience for fans in a way that's never been done before." Part of the revolutionary approach includes paying players, most of whom will be players that barely missed the cut of NFL teams last week or are transitioning from Division I college programs, based on the amount of their prop bets. That means a quarterback or running back with massive amounts of bets could make much more money than linemen, for instance. "In our system, there's really a limitless cap on what a player can make," Ebersol told ESPN. "Money from the amount of bets placed on them is one of the ways." The AAF is made up of eight yet-to-be-named teams in Orlando, Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, San Antonio and San Diego. The league, which will air on CBS in the spring, used last week's NFL cuts and summer combines to already sign over 300 players to those eight developing franchises.
Man... I just looked at MGM.... that things been beaten down. $15. It used to live between $28 and $32. $5/share in earnings? PE of 3. Hmph. Gotta keep an eye on this one Stoney. That seems awful cheap. Gotta see what's up. MGM Resorts International is a holding company, which engages in the ownership and operations of casino resorts. No VMC? Its actually been holding above $125. That's an important level on this one I think. Even yesterday it held $127. It should be an easy ride to $130+ from here. It'll see $140, its just gonna take a bit. The portfolio is just a taaad bit too speculative for my likes, albeit some brilliant finds. I mean depending on what you want of course. I like MGM ($15.89) better than Eldorado too fwiw. They own a lot of primo real-estate in Vegas they can dump if need be to build out their sports books in states they already have a footprint in. They also have exposure in Macau. I wonder if the Chinese bet on the NBA/NFL. I bet they do. I do like the whole sports betting thesis. Its gonna pay off.
I think I pulled off the " Quote " button-- It's called REPLY VAN..... & I don't like it i don't see my words... Never doing that again. If we get an infrastructure an or highway spending bill then YES VMC! & that other company that makes the warm stuff that is added to the cement for less harmful effects to the environment. I have VMC on standby along with a bunch of others. You all remember when I MADE A BOLD PREDICTION... I said when Sports comes back the stock market will fall. The current correction came to THE DAY OF OPENING DAY BASEBALL... TO THE DAY!!!! Quant that byatches!!!!!! ok so not that many people bet on baseball and the game is even more boring without the fans. I couldn't watch it. You need those stupid fans falling asleep in their seats; we are accustomed to a certain type of in-game editing and it's all screwed up now. So I think this is a wobble... and he market regains it's footing and... BASKETBALL IS BACK!!!! WE BE IN DA BUBBLE.... !! THIS is going to be great! I will watch these games I am sure of it. And they are doing a smart thing with electronic Wii like figures way to large jumping up and down.. it looks fun! And I want to bet on it!!! A team like the Rockets with their one on one players they could clean up in this tourney... Labron a short season OMG. The stock market will take a serious dip down then. Football? If they can pull it off -- that will usher in your 15%-20% correction/ Bear market.
In terms of themes: I never really capitalized on the camping theme. On the sporting goods side we made a good call on HIBBet but it gave back so much of the gain I panicked out.. so now we really have no exposure on the sporting goods side. And a couple of the purchases I have made this summer have been a floating water polo net and just recently a volley ball net,-- Word to the wise) You Have No Idea How Big (LONG) A FULL SIZE VOLLEY BALL NET IS!!! Ugh This is the last time I let my kid order anything!! You wouldn't believe it it spans the entirety of my lawn. I lined up all three of my vehicles nose to nose and it was still longer!!! My god do you know how tiring volley ball is? I am looking from a respite from getting my ass kicked on the basketball court (my kid is getting really good) so this volley ball, the net is so big you run even more.... This is built for sixteen people or something-- a full team// and I'm playing one on one or two on two. It looks ridiculous out there, I'm half afraid I'm going to mid air trap one of my red tail Hawks.
I posted that article about the underwater rare earths mining attempts that was from a few years ago-- I wonder where all of this is now. How interesting that some underwater parcels have sort of been doled out... and China... I wonder what they are up to underwater. i bet we are both building machines that will rake up and possibly destroy our oceans we really have to keep an eye on this. I'm not sure if I want to invest in the idea or protest against it. -- We do desperately need these rare earths.
