I can't believe its Friday already.
    Friggin time flies.

Its tax-time Stoney! I saw you bitchin about that lol. $250K?! you have to pay? Damn dawg... and you're worried about $100 HVAC service contract? :D

So check this out... effing TurboTax Premier... for lines 1d and 1e... cost basis and proceeds... is only a 7 digit field.

I had to go back and amend a return and the upload you get from the broker for year 2018 is no longer available. That's stupid. You can get a .csv file... or a .pdf, but TurboTax doesn't take these. And I'm not printing out over 400 pages of trades on Form 8949. So I tried to enter the aggregate amounts of all the trades on their worksheet. It only takes 7 digits. Now before ya'll roll your eyes like "yeah right VZ, you're a baller trading $53MM dollars.... " understand that those figures are all daytrades. So if you're in and out of say 1000 shares of $100 stock 4 times in one day, that $400,000 goes to your overall cost basis (line 1d) and proceeds (line 1e). So you can see how an active daytrader can easily break the 7 digit mark total in a year with a 5 figure margin account.
So f-it. I wrote the total in by hand on the schedule D and attached a note. If they wanna see 400 pages of trades, I'll email them the .PDF file.
I can't believe Intuit has never been made aware of this. I mean yeah, you just upload all the data into the program, but if the broker data is no longer available in whatever format TurboTax wants... pffff. you're f'd.
    Whatever on that.

Ok Stoney, its too bad the "ideas for now" doesn't accommodate possible short positions. But I'll throw one out anyway.

Now I know the entire investing world loves Nike, and its also on the stupid Dow... and I read their last transcript... and they admitted revenue would be light... but man I gotta think with no back to school, no college sports, no high school, jr high, or grade school sports this fall.... they are gonna take a huge revenue hit.
It's at $97 today. I'm not gonna play it because I'm not gonna tie up the funds for a multi-month hold, but I think that thing is gonna see the low 80's again.

61 PE... gimmeee a friggin break. That thing should be $60 tops.

Well have a good weekend Stoney, oh and ps... who the hell is gonna go to a Walmart parking lot to watch a movie? Not me. I do like the idea of a renaissance of the drive-in theaters though. We covered that. I think its a great idea. Fond memories. Paradise by the dashboard light.

  3. Time To Go Long Carrier-?

    -
Carrier shares higher after launch of air scrubber for schools 12:03 CARR Carrier Global shares are moving higher after the company announced the launch of its OptiClean 1500-cfm Dual-Mode Air Scrubber & Negative Air Machine. The company said the product is "ideal for helping to maintain clean and healthy indoor air quality in classrooms, cafeterias, libraries, gymnasiums, restrooms and more." The new unit joins the existing OptiClean 500-cfm unit, which was launched in April "to help create infectious isolation rooms in hospitals treating COVID-19 patients and is now used in hospitals and dental offices and is ideally suited for individual classroom use." The OptiClean 1500 draws air from inside larger spaces, removes many contaminants and discharges cleaner, filtered air, according to Carrier. The stock in midday trading is up 4% to $24.86.

  4. Van you summed up exactly why I stopped day trading!!!! & I never could get that Turbo Tax down I tried when I had a business and just couldn't figure it out. Instead I just write everything on yellow legal pads and then lose them.

    Have you bought BCRX yet?

We put it into the portfolio not much further back than where it is I think $4.50 I have to check.
It had a little upswing last week and then settled back.
Options have been extremely interesting. People are betting on a big move up.

According to my Brazil knowledge... Don't quote me but i believe the trial going on has been expanded. That's the rumor it did not make the press. Now you may ask yourself the same question i have been asking myself-- Why Has This Company Been So damn quiet. Every lousy biotech makes up a Covid press release and goes up 30% it seems. It's so frustrating I have been one letter off twice! Freakin' bios blast off and just jumble the letters a bit and I own it! But i don't; always someone else is having all the fun. Why is Biocryst so quiet?

Why would you be quiet... maybe their product actually works?
It's a theory. So is this:

My theory throughout this whole process has been that the GILD drug has some benefits but it needs to be a stronger dose... and that can't happen with the injections because of the side effects but what about an anti viral that is extremely close to GILD's but CAN be taken orally... Well you can administer more of it most likely-- three different dosing levels, that's the rumor...

Well Van thank me later. The BCRX Brazilian study results should come out before the end of this month.

  5. I have a short for you Van and I own it. APPLE.

I've been doing this a very long time and when folks start telling me that the tech stocks are the " safety " stocks that the few large cap Tech stocks are the " value " stocks... well, it's time to pull in the bullishness.

    5G Who needs it?

There's a commercial on TV I think for Spectrum and it goes like this... Lady is asked do you want faster speed? To which I can say No. Do you want more secure blah blah.. No. Are you having any trouble streaming now? No. Do you want... No.

There is nothing 5G can do that 4G didn't do during this crises and they will have to start slowing down 4G and faking the funk to try and show how much better 5G is...

Now I have a $1000 I phone in 5G for you and your old phone is working fine.
So you give Apple $1,000 and they tell you it comes without ear buds or earphones enjoy.

I have been in an ongoing dispute with my people but the stock keeps going up so they are right? Or are they? Take away the buybacks and what do we really have here...

Ok the guy is here he's got his huge truck over my little bridge and he's got the hose in the hole and the side of the truck says " We Do Your Doo " Not bad, they all have a funny pun... these brave men who take away our foulness. Oh please oh please no problems.... No tears or repairs just come and go and take it with you please. It's been so long i know and I've been up here non stop for three months.. usually it's just a weekend and I'm gone... oh no he has a tool out.... I'm watching out my window he has a large rotor rooter tool out.... Oh jeeze it's a solid situation... We are filed to the brim...

Autonomous vehicles. But who needs them?
And oh yeah, the so-called 'internet of things' needs it. Everyone needs a refrigerator that orders milk when the jug runneth low.
Maybe go out and ask the "we do your doodoo" guy if he has plans to install a chip in your septic tank. If it works for milk....

  7. No he's going to put some food dye in there & I apparently have a running toilet problem which can cause tons of water to be wasted and dumped into the tank. So now we have to replace a toilet or two... Food dye there as well I guess...

HIBB seems like a pretty inclusive place.

The office of the future is going to have a lot of plexiglass. That maybe an investment in itself who makes plexiglass? Each individual is going to want their own pod or enclosed space and I have found a little company that does that.

Yeah what happens is if you're putting too much water into the septic, which a leaky toilet will certainly do, solids in your septic tank will float up and get in the pipe(s) that drain out to your leech field. Then these stop up and then you'll be looking at a whole new leech field. I guess the good news on that would be you'll have a back-hoe on site and you can throw him an extra $50 to tear down the grotto. :D

They use the dye in the toilet to see if there's an imperceptible leak, ie one you can't hear. If the water in the toilet tank clears up, you've got a leak. Those leaky toilets... you'd be surprised how much water they can go through. I got a $500+ water bill once on a rental, the idiots didn't tell me the bitch was running 24/7. I was pissed.

So how's Wally-World make money off of this?
    Sell tickets?
Hard to have 'Paradise by the dashboard light' when there's 8000 cameras zooming in/out and about.
I can hear it now... "Mom, dad... Suzie and I got arrested for indecent exposure in the WMT parking lot."

They better pick up all the trash that the idiots leave too so it doesn't blow up and down the public streets.

    Dumb idea.
