Ideas For Now-

  1. Jeffery Gunlach Says) I think he's a hedge fund manager... he extols this is as a retail rally only--

Notably, he says the rally is taking place mainly without institutional money, and "I'm happy to watch other people push it higher." Retail trading accounts have surged in the wake of the zero-commission movement.

And he returns to a recent talking point by suggesting Powell's "kryptonite" would be negative rates, which Gundlach has said would be "fatal," even with pressure to go negative building as short-term borrowing explodes.

Can stocks reverse and take out their March low? Gundlach wraps his call by giving that prospect an unusually specific 76.8% chance.

  4. FDA OKs expanded emergency use of Quidel COVID-19 test
    Jun. 10, 2020 6:43 AM ET|About: Quidel Corporation (QDEL)|

The FDA has amended its Emergency Use Authorization for Quidel's (OTC:QDEL) rapid point-of-care Sofia SARS Antigen FIA test to allow it to be run on its automated Sofia Fluorescent Immunoassay Analyzer that can generate results in as little as 15 minutes.<--- That is fast ....
I have been watching this testing company more than ABT and the rest....

15 minutes. What I need to hash out here is is it still shoving the swab up the nose? I think we have to move way from that... rather blood prick or saliva.

    Hi stoney.

Ticks huh? Didn't you have that problem last year too? Stuff one of those Hartz flea and tick collars down your drawers, see if that works. Nasty little f'rs aren't they?

How'd we miss AAXN? That's the old Taser company. The CEO was (is) pretty sharp, back in the day he knew what was coming apparently and kept pouring all the earnings in R&D. Pretty much built the industry standard for police body-cams and a myriad of other gizmos and software to make sense of it all. It's $102 today, more than likely its going to keep running. It trades at 10X sales, I have to dig into their margins, see what percentage of those revenues comes from repeat business using their cloud for whatever PD's use it for. He should do a 20:1 split, get it down to $5, then go on Cramer and reel in the Robinhood gang. He'll bump the marketcap 30% overnight.

How about AMZN... its up like 5% just in the last 2 days. Nuts. I've said for awhile now the only reason Trump doesn't break them up to save mom and pop's is because they are to heavily weighted on so many indexes. (is it indexes or indices(?)... i always wondered about that). Elon parroted my sentiments in a Tweet last week I think. We'll see. Right now things aren't looking good for Trumpy, so if he see's the writing on the wall, he may just say "wtf... I'll show Bezos". Who knows. I guess all the PM's need it in their portfolios eh? Imagine telling your clients you don't any AMZN.

SBGI's not doing well. There's something going on with that debt issuance I think. They moved the date to yesterday. https://seekingalpha.com/pr/1788873...nt-results-of-private-debt-exchange-offer-and
Its at $21 today. Down 6%. Apparently something didn't go well. It looks like a dog for now.

All the good stocks are pretty pricey. Buy high sell higher I guess. I gotta think we're gonna drop as the election draws near---- assuming Joe keeps it to bi-weekly appearances and avoids any candid interviews.

    Interesting times Stoney... interesting times.

  7. Here We Go Down! I knew it! I should show you all the e mail stream I had yesterday arguing about this with a pro but alas here we are. How much pain are you willing to accept on Apple?
I guess that's the question. Up so much how much are you willing to give back. It makes me itchy.

No Van last year I was tick free. Knock on wood I think I may have developed a defense against Lyme which I did get once.

Did you see the jerk who's knocking Warren Buffet and saying he's the best investor now-- That's the Barstool guy... I want no part of that. So the PENN idea is out the window for me. Back to watching Churchill Downs CHDN. It's funny overthe years I have been steamrolled by two stocks going up that I could not catch up to wait maybe three... But two of them were sports related. MSG networks one year i had a bunch of Buys in mid $60's maybe $68 I dickered it never got done and it may have hit $300 last year. CHDN same thing I have actually ridden this up twice to enormous gains-- but when it is low when it does get under $100 I have never had the guts to buy it and just hold it. I'm always running along side and trying to jump into the saddle of a speeding Kentucky horse.

Are we having a second wave or not? Depends on what channel you are watching. I am watching in my mind content provided by Limelight. LLNW what do we know. Earnings are going Up... fact. We can count on these guys on their next report. How many companies can we say that of? Stay at home and increased streaming is good for this company who as I understand it serve just about every platform except NFLX. Take me, I have watched stuff on Hulu and Amazon thus I assume I have used, watched or enjoyed or hated something related to LLNW.
But of course NFLX is the big dog... So we can view this as a negative or we could ask the question what would ever happen to the stock if they did start sellling to NFLX?

    Ideas)

    A) LLNW. Can we get this just over $5?

    B) REGN. We mused earlier in this thread that REGN was going to go nuts at some point. That nutsy behavior looks like it starts today with a PR about starting trials. This is a BIO winner. But it's also $600 a a share! This stops me every time. I said the same thing about AMZN at $950... I think a similar trajectory is ahead for REGN.

    C) LPTH. This has been saucy... big volume. It's gone up as of late. We watched it. I can't call in and then a day or two later call in again and say sell! These ideas must be somewhat long term... otherwise I wil look foolish.

We have CASH from our 4 sells already in this portfolio we can do something but it has to be the right move. Investing is often like this: You have two stocks they have similar names you watch them one goes up and the other doesn't and you wind up buying the other! It's safer. There's no false momentum just the original thesis... Such is the case with LLNW vs LPTH.

  8. I do not like the TASR... was a pump scam in the old days and the resulting product is unweildly and dangerous. And of course used mostly on minorities. Did you see those kids tased in Atlanta? Disgusting. It makes the body seized up what of you have a heart condition. Sometimes it doesn't work and then they tase and tase and tase... Disgusting. Afterwards they say Oh look at the smoke I guess it did work that second time...

Police de funding can't be good for much in this space. DGLY is always the sexy camera play....
If you wanted to come at this from the law enforcement side buy DGLY.

There is a company that has my attention that is a bit in this space-- well certainly they are in Space... and more and more I'm liking that Military/space section of the market. It's never good to buy another name when your first idea AJRD hasn't rocketed up yet... But I like Leidos LDOS.

    Company Profile
    [IMG]
Leidos Holdings, Inc. provides services and solutions in the defense, intelligence, civil, and health markets in the United States and internationally. It operates through three segments: Defense Solutions, Civil, and Health. The Defense Solutions segment offers national security solutions and systems for air, land, sea, space, and cyberspace for the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, military services, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and government agencies of U.S. allies abroad, as well as other federal, civilian, and commercial customers in the national security industry. Its solutions include technology, intelligence systems, command and control platforms, data analytics, logistics, and cybersecurity solutions, as well as intelligence analysis and operations support services to critical missions. The Civil segment provides systems integration services to Air Navigation Service providers, including the Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, and airport operators; and vehicle and cargo inspection system, which enables the scanning of vehicles and cargo that produces an image using a low radiation dose.

This civil area could be down of course....

It also offers information technology (IT) solutions in cloud computing, mobility, application modernization, DevOps, data center, network modernization, asset management, help desk operations, and digital workplace enablement; federal environment and infrastructure; and logistics services. The Health segment offers solutions to federal and commercial customers responsible for health and well-being of people worldwide, including complex systems integration, managed health services, enterprise IT transformation, and life sciences services.

--> So what we have here is IT tech with cyber security and cloud that covers a lot of bases of other high flying tech stocks... and we have also Gov Contracts galore.. they keep coming even as the economy slows!!!<---- We are part of the crew of 3 companies that are going to make an important part of the next space craft launch... Everything this company does it seems is in play now... They slightly lowered guidance and got that out of the way.

    LDOS.

  9. 2 months ago--Leidos upgraded to Buy from Neutral at Citi 04/20 LDOS Citi analyst Jonathan Raviv upgraded Leidos Holdings to Buy from Neutral with an unchanged price target of $115. In a post-COV19-19 world, government technology is key, Raviv tells investors in a research note. The analyst believes the government tech stocks are "uniquely positioned" in a virus recovery world and upgraded the two names with the highest health exposure: Booz Allen and Leidos.<----
