Sounds like he was using the “French girl” accounts to try to get someone to offset his account or something and it got flagged. And he was fined.
Lol, thanks for looking out but I have plenty of cash to take assignments and use adequate protection ;-) I love nothing more than when you make bad assumptions! Run Becky, run!
Not to hijack, but last year Tradestation forced me to be a professional trader if I stayed. I was only buying PL and PA short-term single leg options, but I only had 5K at a time in the account. I'd take profits every time I hit 10K+. Mainly because I just don't trust them. The future options software was disgusting and the MTM was full of errors, so I had like no money in there. I was only doing a handful of options at a time so I never needed more. It took me a bit to realize that they obviously knew I was not a professional trader, I'm in insurance, but they didn't like the risk of me buying the PL and PA options which are pretty illiquid. The risk was minimal in terms I held an ITM option to the close, in 15 minutes I could just sell and I never held to close, but they probably weren't sure if I would be selling options or doing other strategies. For a penance of money, 5K-10K, it wasn't worth keeping me. PA futures at the time IBKR was charging 300K to open 1 contract, which was crazy, so I was looking for a way to leverage PA more easily. I probably could have negotiated putting in 50K or something, but their future options software is so terrible there is no way in hell I would be comfortable with that.
Surely, the influx of the French spreader group was odd and I assumed it was one user with many nicks. Turns out they were actuals. The CT-KC spread was mos def an IQ test. WTF.
