ICE ex-chief: Nondeport rules would’ve spared 9/11 hijackers

  1. “Most Americans would be surprised to know that immigration agents are regularly prohibited from enforcing the two most fundamental sections of United States immigration law,” said Chris Crane, president of National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council. “According to ICE policy, in most cases, immigration agents can no longer arrest persons solely for entering the United States illegally.”
  2. They are however encouraged to drive them to the nearest voter registration office.
  3. Please refrain from using the word illegal when referring to immigration status. They are now "citizens out of status". Your new, and continually revised Orwellian dictionary should be arriving any day now.
  4. At first glance, I thought "ICE" meant the "exchange", not the government bureaucracy. :eek: :cool:
