  3. yeah, but jem.....CO2 is greenhouse gas and is at levels not seen in thousands of years and rising fast due to to our activities. Looking to the past is of limited help The levels and especially the rate of increase is unprecedented. That's causing the temps to rise. It's really pretty simple. Most people with an IQ above 90 can understand it. Why are you having so much trouble with it?

  4. and virtually all the world's climatologists, around 97%, agree. The other three either work for the FF industry or did not understand the question. But what do they know?

  5. CO2 is greenhouse gas and is 35% higher than it was 100 years ago. Greenhouse gasses raise temps. The temps are rising mostly due to the higher concentration of CO2 from FF burning.

BTW the hockey-stick temp graph is correct, and we are at record high temps worldwide. The ice on earth is melting. Because of higher temps...because of high CO2 levels.....because we're pumping huge amounts into the air. And don't forget....CO2 is a greenhouse gas.

Oh.......and all the world's climatologists agree....... Except the 3% working for the FF industry.

So if you want to side with the 3% go ahead. Good luck with that.

BTW Watts is a hack and a shill for the FF industry and has next to no credibility among most climatologists, but does very well for himself, whoring out to the denier crowd of morons.

  6. “The data doesn't matter. We're not basing our recommendations on the data. We're basing them on the climate models.” - Prof. Chris Folland, Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research

“The models are convenient fictions that provide something very useful.”- Dr David Frame, climate modeler, Oxford University

"We've got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, - Timothy Wirth, President of the UN Foundation

"No matter if the science of global warming is all phony- Christine Stewart, former Canadian Minister of the Environment

"I believe it is appropriate to have an 'over-representation' of the facts - Al Gore, Climate Change activist

"It doesn't matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true." - Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace

"The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. - Club of Rome, premier environmental think-tank, consultants to the United Nations

"We need to get some broad based support, to capture the public's imagination...So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts... Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest." - Prof. Stephen Schneider, Stanford Professor of Climatology, lead author of many IPCC reports

Doesn't matter, there is little or no liquid water on Mercury or Venus. Atmosphere, particularly the presence (or absence) of CO2 explains the wild temperature differences.

whoops, warming without CO2 found in previous times. How did that happen?

During that time, temperatures across a broad swath of the North Pacific were 9-14 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than today, while atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations remained low--near values prior to the Industrial Revolution.
The research shows that, in the last five million years, changes in ocean circulation allowed Earth's climate to become more closely coupled to changes in carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere.
