Bottom line- It isn't as bad as it used to be, and IB Canada is much better, but even though I was paying IB several thousand dollars a year in transaction fees, customer service made me feel like it was a huge inconvenience for them to pickup the phone and a real pain in the arse for them to talk to me. The concept of showing your customers appreciation for their business seemed completely alien to them.
IB is probably the best broker on a range of criteria, however it 's a pain to work with them. Management and developers have shown by their decisions they have little respect for customers . Their platform is bloated with features most traders won't use , even their reps get confused with it during the tutorials. I always say I am a full time trader ...because of IB , it's a full time job to work with them and sort out problems.
