    cesko,
there is a demo link from the web site.
    http://www.interactivebrokers.com/html/tws/demo2.html

    others:
the head of ops sent me an e-mail containing a version that "addresses a few of the points made previously a few more remain". I didn't get a breakdown on what is new but one by one the suggestions are being added to. I don't have time at the moment to test it out but you will get the latest version when you log in.

privateer, the issue of firewalls is surely to be addressed as we have many institutional clients. I'm not an expert in internet security but I would imagine this is the main concern.

    hi big ed

I personally use the function keys for the JWS as follows:

    F1 for price down
    F2 for transmit
    F3 for price up
    F4 for cancel

I think if You give it a try, You will see if it is good for You. for me it is perfect , very quick and comfortable.

and again I have to mention, that I would like to see the possibility of putting a separation space between the orderroutings or the different shares on each page, for better handling.

    best of luck

  4. Hello Ed,

no experience with option assigments @IB - I cover my positions in options early enough before assignment can happen.

IB doesn't currently offer mutual funds trading. But with all these Index-shares, Holders's and iShares out there, I guess one could build his own mutual fund very quickly and easily.

Another alternative to mutual funds would be services like

    http://www.foliofn.com

Unfortunately, they don't accept foreign accounts.

In case I do want to trade in MF's, I have my Datek account. They offer a quite large selection of MF's to trade

Option-trading with DATEK works fine, but still limited to basic strategies.( Long put's & calls )
Other strategies, like straddles, CC's etc. will be introduced over time and will be possible for approved customers.
    Price 9.99/trade + 2.75/contract

    regards &

    Def,

Thank you for the changes in IB JTS.
I see IB does consider feature requests.

Thank the programmers too. It should be a great feeling to write a program users can really benefit from.
The changes they did, do help.

I hope we have more constructive suggestions so the platform will continue to improve.

    Def,
    Suggestion for TWS 4
    Bring back the book window.
Also make it possible to have multiple
    book windows open.

  7. BigEd,
With regard to your question about option assignments, I have a bit of experience with those through IB. As IB mentions in their documents, any options 3/4 point or more in the money at expiration are automatically assigned. There are no commission charges incurred in assignments. For instance, I recently sold calls on AMCC that were assigned, and ended up selling out 200 shares from my account, and while selling the shares in normal market hours would have cost $2.00 in commissions, the shares were taken out of the account with no charges. There have been no problems whatsoever, and I've never been assigned before expiration, as is technically possible.

I was looking at the IB Java Demo and I didn't see anywhere that has your "Buying Power". Is there a updating figure for buying power?

    thanks,
    matt

the book windows are on the queue.

    zboy,
correct, about option exercise/assignment for US markets.

    m_c_a98,
i think buying power has been considered but i'm not sure if it has any priority. you're net liq is posted live. For my own curiousity, why is this such an important feature.

I just thought that buying power would be helpful in the off chance that someone exceeded it. They say that any sort of RegT or maintenance call will be liquidated immediately.
I don't know, maybe it's not necessary, I was just wondering because I've been looking at and comparing various brokers.
    thanks
