I was logged onto TWS at least 40 minutes into the close until about 15 minutes after the close. My connection never went down. Had trouble logging into the client portal last night for about 20 minutes, but otherwise this year has gone mostly smooth.
Same here, I have no idea what people are talking about. I traded and watched the entire US session from beginning to end on IB screens today, never had an outage. Weird.
Apparently, there are 4 US TWS servers, 1 + 1 backup east coast, and 1 + 1 backup central. Under the log-on options, you can set your region, but I don't see a way to select central vs. east coast. Maybe that's based off your time zone. I'm on the west coast so if TWS was smart, it would connect to the Central US servers. Maybe the guys with the outage are all on the east coast and connect to East Coast servers. https://ibkr.info/node/2816
