TWS is faster than IB desktop in loading charts on the same laptop.

  2. Desktop Portal? Do you mean Client Portal (web site)?

  3. No I'm using the new desktop platform. I came from TOS and imo IBKR desktop is superior. As a broker IBKR also has the lowest exchange rate when trading US stocks with Cad cash...I don't even bother doing the norbit gambit.

The charts are trading view as well ..no comparison out there and I have tried multiple broker platforms.

Why trade back to CAD once you are in USD?
Does yout EW see the CAD gaining value, it's been in a down trend.
Have you seen who is running the country?

  5. ? I don't bother changing to USD at all now. I used to do the Norbit Gambit to save on the exchange.

I was under the impression you converted your US profits back to CAD.

IBKR is a lousy broker for advisors.
IBKR will allow your clients to skip paying you by cutting you out and can get away without paying you a single cents despite all the agreements.

Like many, I frustrated by the arbitrary margin increases by IB over the years (Been with IB for ~20 years). I've traded with several other brokers who does not jump through the margin roof with a hint of market volatility.

The things that kept me at IB is the convenience (ability to trade multiple stock exchanges worldwide & access to futures trading and the reasonably cheap rates). Anyone can suggest an alternative to IB with access to global equities and futures and does not impose arbitrary margin increases? Feel free to PM too.

Could you please provide an example of an arbitrary margin increase by IB?
