Look at the last sentence. This is going to be on the SHO list next week.

The auction format was in keeping with Peterffy's disdain for middle men and characteristic of his preference to be a thorn in the side to Wall Street establishment. He said the traditional method of conducting an IPO--in which a bank lines up favored investors to receive the shares, and those investors in turn charge huge commissions on them--is "morally corrupt."

The auction "gives everybody an equal chance to participate," Peterffy said, adding that several Wall Street firms approached him and asked him not to go that route.

  2. Peterffy plans on selling 12.5% of the company every year for the next 8 years.

The company is a public company owned by shareholders and overtime he will sell his stake to big institutional holders, nothing new here. You would have a hard time naming five other +10bln companies that are owned 90% by one man.

    itmediaco,

    Good entry point !

I did not buy. I was just watching T&S.

You might want to consider selling at around $32.79; for you a nice +$1.50.

    :)

  5. The only problem with reading the drivel that many of you spew, is that it detracts from actually focusing on the trade at hand.

Just because the bashers are basically morons, yes, you know who you are, does not mean the stock cant go lower.

just something for the longs to keep in mind, we know most of the knockers here are clueless, but that does not guarantee a good long trade.

The same crew stuck the place up on GOOG.

They bashed it from 90 all the way to 500. No shame.

    LOL.

Close was $31.30 ... far cry from $35.

With all your posts today on IBKR I'd guess you bought a bit high today and may be underwater.

All I'll say is when shares are shortable I'll be looking to short if it's still $30+.

  8. Well, I'm glad I dumped my shares at 10:43.

I think this IPO will end up trading in the 30 range, with a market cap around 11 - 12 billion, just like every other retail broker. The hype was all for nothing :(

The stock isn't going to tank to the low 20s though. This isn't some shitty start up, it's an established broker and market maker.
