Well ..that wasn't it. Overnight + Day means just that. GtC is the correct pick, which is what I always pick. So back to the unresolved issue which is, sometimes IBKR doesn't fill 24h orders.

    From grok.

Interactive Brokers does not allow orders to fill outside regular trading hours (RTH) on Memorial Day, as U.S. stock markets, including the NYSE and Nasdaq, are closed, and no overnight trading session occurs the night before a market holiday.[](https://brokerchooser.com/broker-reviews/interactive-brokers-review/after-hours)

Extended-hours trading (pre-market from 4:00 AM to 9:30 AM ET and after-hours from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET) and overnight trading (8:00 PM to 3:50 AM ET) are available on regular trading days for eligible products like US stocks and ETFs, but these sessions are suspended on Memorial Day. Trades executed outside RTH on other days are dated to the next trading day, but on holidays like Memorial Day, no trading sessions occur, so no fills are possible.[](https://brokerchooser.com/broker-reviews/interactive-brokers-review/after-hours)[](https://www.investopedia.com/interactive-brokers-expands-after-hours-trading-7565335)[](https://www.interactivebrokers.com/campus/trading-lessons/overnight-trading-in-tws/)

Always check Interactive Brokers’ platform or contact their customer service for specific account details or updates, as holiday schedules can affect trading settings.[](https://www.interactivebrokers.com/campus/trading-lessons/overnight-trading-in-tws/)

I’ve had same problem you had. Cancelled order and entered new one “ fill outside RTH” and order went through. Just be sure to cancel original order so you don’t get filled at open again
