for me, lol, right, thanks. Will check out your crystal ball market palm reading. But then we both know we differ in our approach to trading.
Totally agree. We ran those exact ads for IBKR and some other ones as well and they were amongst the worst performing ads ever. Since I've had the luxury of seeing which ads work and which ads don't over the last 18 years, I tried to help them out with some advice, but it all fell on deaf ears.
Why do you think they performed so badly? I mean relatively speaking. It's not that other ads on this site really sprout through humor and intelligence. Honest question
And yet, somehow they grew into a $16B firm, while Robert Morse is still fishing in the forums 12 hours a day. The width of the tie in that ad is hilariously '90s, though.
Very much agree, IB has built a retail empire and they must be doing something right. I challenge anyone to name another broker, ecn, or trading house that provides tighter spreads and higher quality execution than what IB offers in cash fx space, for example. Or perhaps another broker that targets retail and offers the number exchanges that IB offers connectivity to. Or perhaps a front end that is more versatile and offers more ability for customization than TWS. A few other advertisers seem to be extremely gluey and rather than being critical and honest even when that does not please other posters they seem to always have something nice to say as if they are paid to be nice. It does not give the impression away, though, that they are completely honest and rather be nice to increase sales.
