IBD : Investor's Business Daily I was going through investors.com and I found they have some nice ranking systems. 1- EPS Rating : https://education.investors.com/financial-dictionary/ibd-terms/EPS-Rating 2- Relative strength. does anybody know how those rankings are calculated? I found a link for stockcharts where they discuss the relative strength but it seems different from IBD. IBD have the ranking from 1 to 99 (99 is the best)
%% Yes;some do it [rs]on total market; other on SPY. EPS of 80 means its in top 80% of ALL stocks// earnings. Great uptrend + great sector except SEPT is known a s worst month ....LOL NOT a prediction
%% Investopedia has an OK definition. But best way is do big trend studies, all data; they can / do run up stock , big trends, with NO earnings.
It's a good rating system. If you add these other criteria it will help to build your High Quality Universe of stocks to trade. Price bwt $10 and $50 65day avg Volume >200k Float 5 -60 million daily Positive earnings Insider shares > 5% Institutional shares > 5% Then screen for unusual volume as stock prices move into it's positive zone of it's cycle.
Looks good; except 65 dma is WSJ bull ,OK-LOL; most any thing will work in a bull trend. Too slow for me it would use use less comissions, so could work....
Yeah, the 65 dma is just a low tide mark and a reference point for First Rising Volume. What's makes a greater difference is EPS and RS rating movement as compared to peers.
