  3. I swear, IB's technology and platform are from the stone age, but they probably save me a k or 3 a week in commissions. I also really love throwing my orders in there 100 shares at a time and really pissing the specialists off. They must hate having to come all the way to their posts from their massages just to print a 100 share order...... LOL. Make them work for their spreads....LOL

without giving away any trade secrets ...

    is TMBR totally automated ?

I sometimes notice when I raise my bid to best bid on nasdaq big cap stocks they follow me

especially if the futures are rallying

    seth,
yes, the system is automated. as for following your orders, could be coincidence or just a desire to match the best bid.

    prae,
    LOL,
    platform: K.I.S.S.

Technology: i'd love to leave your comment as is but given the cost and quality of the infractucture, and the tendancy on this board for some to take what they read at face value, i can't let it slide. it's the technology that provides the savings that keeps you coming back for more.

DEF mentioned being on the same side of the market as TMBR as being a reason for not getting many TMBR fills. It occurs to me that this is probably a good place to be :)

It sure would be nice if we (IB customers) could actually add a line to TWS for TMBR for NYSE stocks and be able to see its bid/offer instead of it being hidden. Given their volume, it would seem unlikely that a retail customer would be able to materially affect their performance, no? I might actually learn how to trade better :)

Bullets would really rock, particularly during the pre- and post-market sessions, when the ECNs are still doing brain-dead things with short-sale orders. Don't forget about "conversions" (longer-term bullets) too - it would be far easier and cheaper for IB to put these on and sell them to me than to have to put them on and manage them myself.

  7. As far as TMBR showing their 'book'. I think adverse selection is a problem, and I assume they are too smart for that.

  8. "Order Rejected - No Trading Permission, Account Requirements"

That's the message I keep getting when placing an S&P E-mini trade via the browser edition of TWS even though my account is fully funded and trading permission correctly set.

Anyone else having this problem? If so, solutions?

It took nearly 4 days to get my "wired" funds accessible and now this! I can trade fine via the interactive demo but not in my own account. It's as if IB doesn't want me trading with them.... :( :(  :(  :(

go to account login, not trade login. If you do not have a universal account you need to upgrade your account type. I believe you then need to change your trading permissions.

With IB i have often felt when i call them its like they don't want you to trade with them. But the price is right and the service is very reliable.
