WS charges 3% round trip of fx fees for trading US stocks. So no no. The only thing I notice is https://nbdb.ca/pricing.html, $0.95/trade, there are some fine prints as well but I think it's fine. Is that what you mentioned @BlacknBlue? Edit: IB charges $0.0035/share, not per trade. Not sure about NBDB selling order flow or not?
My mistake on that typo, I did mean per share, not per trade of course. You know what, as of late 2019 Wealthsimple came out publically saying that they don't sell order flow. Previous to that date I couldn't find their position on this and the only no commission and no order flow sale broker was TD Ameritrade IIRC. Times are changing.
Yeah regardless WealthSimple does sell order flow or not, its 3% fx fee is deal breaker. Also, its app is deadly slow and often frozen at opening time. TDA does not accept Canadian residents (TD Direct Investing instead, this sucks!), leaves us no choice but IB
I use both IB and Questrade. Depending on what I am doing I will use one or the other. If I’m buying penny stocks then I’ll use Questrade. If I am doing day trading where I need good hot keys I use IB via DASTrader. Hot keys with Questrade are downright awful. As well when buying options Questrade is expensive. IB is much cheaper and doesn’t charge for assignment or exercise whereas questrade charges.
