IB Unbundled Commission

  1. I trade on Tradestation now, and they have the same price scheme for futures commissions as IB's unbundled rates. If you trade >300, the commission is lower, >1000, etc. But at TS, every month, the clock starts over. I got the discounted rate for middle/end of august. But this week it's back to the regular 4.72 per round trip. Does IB reset the clock every month for its unbundled commissions? If I consistently trade >300 or >1000 over any 30 day period, would IB give me the lower commission always? TIA

  2. IB resets the clock every month...
So you pay less towards the end of the month.

So what. How is this an issue?

If you trade every day... it makes no difference...
All that matters is your total monthly charge.

  3. Thanks. I wanted to see if I can get cheaper commissions w/ IB, but it looks like no.
