yes, the annoying useless space taking blue bar telling me which page I am on occurred when I upgraded from 938 to 948 in an effort to fix my charts after I upgraded my java. I didn't ask for it, I just got a msg from java and I always say yes. I can deal with the annoying blue line because at least I still have my old tws screen, set up after many hours of tweaking to get it just the way I want it.

The tech support led me to believe if I just signed on to the web each time I would be fine.

Sign on to the web and tell me if you are not presented with a whole new screen that is not anything like the old loved and used tws classic order entry. And I want to know how to go to the web and sign on and get the old screen.

You are right, the web trader is nothing like TWS. It doesn't seem horrible, but it is definitely not the same. I don't think your wish of getting TWS like functionality from the web trader is going to come to fruition.

hey man, thanks for checking it out, at least I know I am not crazy. well, they can't possibly change your whole screen shot in just one day with no warning, and you have open positions on and you can't even find them, and have no idea what your average price is and how your stops compare to the current price, all things that were so simple in tws, and just what? somebody decides this would be cooler?

same with 948, instead of a trader they hired a graphic designer. 938 was old and stodgy and nothing but numbers. Only two colors, red and black, unless you personally wanted to customize it. So in 948 she decided, "Let's put a big blue line across the screen to give it some color and pizzazz."

so I got settled down and had some time and nothing on that is going to be hit soon. So, I uninstalled trader workstation 4.0 and went back and downloaded the old stand alone 939 from the ib website and I am back to the good old screen. My charts still don't work properly but that is a small price to pay to get my good old screen back. I bought a new laptop online today for $200 so I can load the old 939 on it and use it for a spare if my current cpu ever craps out on me. I don't think ib understands just how intimate we get with our screen. It can take a long time to get it set up just the way you want it for your type of trading. They make a change and it can totally mess you up.
