I got re-challenged on Thursday and on Friday again. Very frustrating. Saved a screen shot and all the log files. I'll pm kostia00 with the ticket number, hope that helps.

Me, too. Same problems of endless disconnections on the last two days of the week. Especially Thursday.

And it was not helped by the fact that I still have not opted back into the Secure Login System, because it did not reconnect by itself. It did not reconnect until I turned TWS off and restarted it all over again. This was a problem, because of course, using trading systems, I am not monitoring my systems all day long, so I missed one hour of data.

So, recapitulating, in case you have the Secure Login System enabled, it cannot reconnect even if the connection works, because you have to enter the codes again. But this time it made no difference because even without it, you had to restart it manually.

  3. Same thing here.

They have decided they made enough in commissions ... or this bug is really so hard to solve ...

I am with IB since 2008 and had no such issues for more than 3 years. When the re-challenge popup happened to me for the first time, I opened a ticket on the same day January 26, 2012 and was a few days later advised by IB to opt out the security device just for TWS. Even though I set up an IP restriction for TWS login and use the SSL connection, I still had to sign that very unfair waiver stating that if anything goes wrong for whatever reason, IB will not compensate me.

The re-challenge popup makes TWS go pink until the codes are entered manually, which is guaranteed to screw my automated trading, as I am not always in front of the monitor, so I had to opt out and sign the waiver. My automation would work reliable if it wasn't for IB's totally unnecessary re-challenge popup.

When I read on this thread that the issue should be fixed according to IB kostia00, and other members confirmed this, I was happy to opt back into the Secure Login System. As the issue was fixed for a few months, it is now even more frustrating to see that very same bug happening again repeatedly, now in June 2012.

I agree with everything you said, and I've had the same exact experience in the same situation, except that I kept monitoring this thread for relapses, and, having a low capital, I kept myself opted out up until now. Let's acknowledge that there were no problems for a few months, and let's hope it was just a momentary problem.

  6. some humbleness (and more consideration) would help the genius programmers.

It would take literally 30 seconds to add a boolean flag to avoid this on client side (as already suggested).

I have missed 5 hours of data/trading today, because while I was away, I got some "socket" missing dll error message popup box (this is a new problem), that could only be clicked once I got home. Until I pressed the "ok" button, the grid was pink and the data did not come through. Thanks, IB, for endlessly changing the software so that no setup ever works for longer than 3 months at a time. Just awesome.

Anyone knows how to disable all TWS popup messages? The menus have become a labyrinth.

What is the point of creating new versions all the time, which will cause new bugs, endlessly? Is IB worried that his programmers will be slacking off? Why the hell don't they keep one good working version and stop disrupting our trading endlessly with their endless updates? Are they stupid?

For every new version there's 10 new bugs. Since the versions just keep getting worse with useless features and with the good features disappearing... why bother with new versions which only produce bugs?

    Hi,

I have the box running for 24h/day since Sunday and had no issues the last days. I'm in Europe on the Swiss server. Running TWS 921.5.

Running 926.6 from Central US. Big issues here. Maybe I should try to go back to your version. I will try, tonight. I upgraded because of the server problems we have all been experiencing last Thursday and Friday. And now I have even more problems ("dll missing", etc.).
