You can probably remove it via the method I describe here for the new TWS update. I also figured out how to fix the column width issues, which had been bugging me all week. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...e-tips-and-tricks-column-issue-solved.308248/
No, I said i have been with IB from the time they started offering TWS. And I said I had not a single issue with TWS for now 1.5-2 years. Hope you get your issues sorted.
Thank you. I was not able to remove ticker action so TWS has an extra column I don't want, but I was able to move it to the far right.
I had a similar issue on one account and here's how I solved: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...e-tips-and-tricks-column-issue-solved.308248/ Not sure if it will work for your or not, but it's worth a try. The Ticker Action did not move back to the front of the quote row after I moved it off the right side this way.
I noticed Ticker Action came back in the left side position if I created a new tab, but the existing tabs stayed with my preferred adjusted layout.
IB Stable updated itself again for me today, to an April 4 version. Still have problems with the "Orders" activity windows: 1. "Snapshot" column comes back immediately after every time I try to remove it 2. It gives me annoying warnings if I have the "LIVE" or "COMPLETED" filters set on the order list 3. Some font overlay problem over the Orders window when first starting TWS, but it seems to go away after a minute or so.
From TWS: "Per our conversation, the Ticker Action column is hard coded: The column "Ticker Action" is a placeholder for a new button which allows requesting the NBBO quote for US Products. This change was introduced in-order for IB to be compliant with the SEC Vendor Display Rule 603(c)13. For the same reason, it is not possible to remove the column permanently. As long as you have a product listed on the Quote Monitor page that requires IB to relay the NBBO, the Ticket Action column will automatically re-populate" What a joke. So, yes, the only solution is to minimize the Ticker Action column width and then move to the far right.
Another issue with the new release: When you enter a preset order from the ticker row which uses an IBALGO (e.g., VWAP), TWS automatically inserts a useless column called, "Cash Quantity" at full width -- messing up your entire layout. To my knowledge, there is no way to stop it.
This may be like the Key column - it's only there if you have an order that has a Key linked to another order. But you can proactively include the Key column in the shown order fields and move it off to the far right by putting it at the bottom of the list. I don't use their algos to know for sure.
