IB TWS layout nightmare

  1. And yeah, I can confirm the update is more laggy than normal. Even simple scrolling is slower. I liked the old version way better.

And yeah, there is that column that won't disappear. Not even sure what that is for. This update seems pretty buggy for an official and not beta release.

That's exactly what i said. If you press the button to change the reset time then you WON'T be logged out.

Understand this: Either @Zzzz1 is an IB employee or he is too freaking stupid to get paid to unrelentingly and unjustifiably defend IB full time, on every IB-related thread, without compensation, as he has been doing for a protracted period.

  4. It's a farce though. Because it will bug you again. And you basically have to be there within that 5 min (?) window that the pop up shows up right before logging off, otherwise they log you out. So if you left it on all day, went out and forgot, then you're logged out.

I mean, you probably can try to extend TWS more than 24 hours if you must. But by design it only wants to stay on for 24 hours because they will want to log you out.

  5. You can change the BASE layout, sort of a template for a named custom layout. That changes all tabs which have that layout at the same time.

And you can insert and delete columns on a per page basis, which does NOT populate back to the template.

God help you if you do this, as the column widths are near certain to screw up on any page using that template.

Adding the notes column and entering something long, also can screw with widths, on reloads of tws ,even if you've set a max column width. It just blows out to show all the text.

These are all programmatic bugs, easily fixable. If you never do anything but stare at the same boilerplate layout for 10 years , then sure, you are good to go. But if you try to actually use new features, you might be in for a shitstorm.

WTF, I got rid of "ticker action" for a few days and now it's back. Now after I remove t.a. it reappears a second later. Also, how can TWS version 963.3a be a stable version if it's only 5 days old? Rant off.

  7. Really bad design idea to force that column , which only people not subscribing to live quotes will use.

Of course Zzzzzzzzz1 , hasn't noticed it yet.

I predict they will fix it by the year 2023

The most flawless software I've ever used has to be Amibroker.
The most buggy frustrating POS has to be IB.
This is ALL software.... microsoft.... you name it.

Zzz ...you said that you are using tws for two years always on last release-good for you! Unfortunately, for many similar reasons I can't afford that..unlike you,mI'm using tws for almost two fucking decades with api and shitload of my own soft..and manipulating fields , fonts, columns etc on six figures accounts during trading day doesn't make me particularly happy. not sure why its so hard to understand for some? And no, no changes been made on my side on that day or any day for at least since the beginning of the year. I have soft that makes a snapshot of all pc every single fucking day.
