It's possible, but I cannot connect to TWS because I didn't installed it. I ran it directly from the site.
TWS (most of it) is downloaded to your computer every time you run it, unless you use the "installed" version. So it still runs on your machine and needs a good java install. There has been nothing wrong with the IB websites all day, that I have seen. Try clearing your java cache.
