A forum member from IB gave me some software that he wrote that allows you to hook 1 data feed from the tws and split it into 2 computers. To make a long story short, I need to know why he can hook to the tws with this software, using the IP address 192.168.0.1. and I cannot. We both can hook using the address 127.0.0.1 I need to be able to connect using 192 also. This has to be some kind of port setting, or I wonder if my router has a fire wall. I have no trouble out of anything else. I am stumped on this one , can any offer any suggestions? john
I need to know why he can hook to the tws with this software, using the IP address 192.168.0.1. and I cannot. Because you have a different ip address, I'd bet. Assuming you are on win2k or winXp, open a command window run the ipconfig command (start->run... type 'cmd' and press OK; in the new window, type 'ipconfig' and press return.) I get the following: Windows 2000 IP Configuration Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : private IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.11 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
