for electronic and outcry overlapped futures (for example, bond futures, live cattle.....), the bid ask size and tape appearing on IB TWS is the amount only traded electronic, or only traded outcry, or the total amount of both. Thanks.

PS: another question, why some futures are only traded electronic, some traded only outcry no electronic, some traded outcry-electronic-separated, some traded outcry-electronic-overlapped. CONFUSED.

    Thanks for any comments.

You currently only see quotes from the electronic platform.

IB will be adding pit-traded contracts in the near future.

It's up to the individual markets to determine whether they want to bother listing electronic contracts. Probly has to do with getting someone to make markets, which they'll only do if they expect to get some volume.

Electronic futures have different symbols than open outcry. CBOT use the following method:

Z.... for electronic regular contracts (ECBOT)
Y.... for electronic mini contracts (ECBOT)

P.S. Swap futures (SR, SA) and AIGC Index (AIGCI) seem to be an exception.
