    IBsoft Interactive Brokers

If you could send the error logs to our helpdesk, we could have a look. Please include mg101 in the subject line, that way I am sure to get the emai.

  8. Here is the email I received from the IB support team where def directed me:

    "
Sorry to hear you are having issues with the TWS, In order to correct the matter you might consider deleting
your current settings.xml file and restore the settings file from the previous day. The way you would do that is by, first
identify the proper account and folder for the specific account you need to login with.

    1. ) Please make sure you are running latest version of Java.
2.) Please goto your "C" drive on your computer and look for either a folder called: "IBJts" or "Jts"
3.) Then look for a folder that looks like: dluahghzv, look for the date last accessed, look for the most recent.
4.) Double click on the folder and then look for the "setting.xml" file, delete.
5.) Login and then goto "File" and then "Restoring Settings".

    "

The last step probably was not necessary and I did not figure out what to do with it. I just restored my settings manually.

    Hope this works for you...

  10. There is a [MDServerConnections] section in the user.ini file in c:\jts folder. I think this has something to do with which server you are connecting to. Today my [MDServerConnections] section looks like below:

    [MDServerConnections]
    Attrib 4=
    Port 4=4000
    Attrib 3=
    Port 3=4000
    Attrib 2=
    Port 2=4000
    Attrib 1=
    Port 1=4000
    Port 0=4000
    Attrib 0=
    Host 4=mktgw1.ibllc.com
    Host 3=mktgw1.ibllc.com
    Host 2=gw1.ibllc.com.hk
    Host 1=mktgw1.ibllc.ch
    Farm 4=usbond
    Host 0=mktgw1.ibllc.com
    Farm 3=usfuture
    Farm 2=hkfarm
    Farm 1=eurofarm
    Farm 0=usfarm

From my backup of the same file, this section used to be like this:

    [MDServerConnections]
    Host 3=mktgw1.ibllc.com
    Host 2=mktgw1.ibllc.com
    Host 1=mktgw1.ibllc.com
    Host 0=mktgw1.ibllc.ch
    Farm 3=usbond
    Farm 2=usfuture
    Farm 1=usfarm
    Farm 0=eurofarm
    Port 3=4000
    Attrib 3=
    Port 2=4000
    Attrib 2=
    Attrib 1=
    Port 1=4000
    Attrib 0=
    Port 0=4000

It seems hk server is added. Does anyone have better idea of what this change was about? and how TWS uses info in the [MDServerConnections] section?
