Ib Tws Down

  1. No market data here either. Earlier today I was getting yellow/orange color instead of green for market data. Any idea what that means?

  2. It means one or more of your data connections are down. From the menus pull up VIEW / Market Data Connection to see which one(s).

  3. Same.

The system has been down / unreliable for how long now--- because somebody misconfigured a firewall?

I wonder what IB's liability is if it is found that the company is obfuscating the truth from it's clients?

For IB's sake, this better be a "firewall issue" and not something on a bigger scale that they are trying to cover-up.

"Misconfiguring a firewall", or whatever, is the equivalent of someone claiming they meant to press buy instead of sell, IMO.

    No connection here either.

View->Marekt Data Connection: it shows "usfuture disconnected"

  5. IB Communique:

As we stretch to appeal to a more diverse client base by offering more pedestrain features-- we've sold out our core customers.

Sorry. Hope that huge loss you've taken on account of our "firewall" problems wasn't too devastating.

  6. But on the bright side the bulletins seem to be functioning perfectly. Maybe they can include quotes in the next one.

  7. Quotes, yellow instead of green? You guys must be kidding. I am still trying to connect... Yellow quotes for me would be a sign of progress...

  8. Here is the IB tech support attempting to fix the current issue.

  9. No quotes. Logged in but no better off than you. Yellow (really orange) "market data" box in lower right corner of TWS (next to time) is what Old Trader was talking about.

I also love how the bulletins alway say "some users" when describing an outage. Ever thought about who is not included in that group?

  10. And that pictorially describes the orange/yellow market data problem OldTrader was talking about as well.
