I've been using IB TWS a lot more lately, specifically the chart trader functionality. The problem I'm having is that I really like to trade with a fixed vertical scale (in terms of ticks per inch) and when the future I'm trading has just made a big move, it doesn't all fit on the screen. That's fine - I don't need it to. But when I set the vertical scale so the chart doesn't fit, the chart jumps around like a monkey on speed. The problem gets worse when I have an active order (STP or LMT) on the screen. All I want it to do is roughly center the current price, and let anything that falls off the top/bottom do that, and have it only adjust the vertical range when the price moves far from the center of the screen. Is there a way to make this happen? Alternately, is there a third party application that duplicates the functionality of chart trader which doesn't have this problem?
