IB trader workstation worth learning ? or piece of junk ?

  1. I find chartrader is not bad although the charts are not looking pretty. But you get second based charts, which you don´t get with tos, tc 2000. Mostly i use the 15s chart for an entry. But the backfill for the second chart works only for the current trading day. That´s the only disadvantage. Would like to know, if charttrader is ok for you or do you prefer Ninjatrader, Medvedtrader or Motivewave for executing and charting?

Been with IB close for almost 8 years, but using Medvedtrader for executing trades and charting. Very stable combo.

It is a rather complex and ugly trading platform.
The english they use is equally complex.

for other trading platforms, you can learn to use it within hours.
For IB, it will take days / weeks / months .... !!!!

But I still use it because there are other plus points like
free charting software, ability to enter STOP order ...

  4. Why do you prefer Medvedtrader over TWS´s Chartrader? Is the difference so huge? In tws you can also set up a limit order by clicking on the chart, you can set up buttons for buying, selling, closing the position etc.

It is a outdated junk. They always have issues when they update with new version and their support is MISERABLE. They are good for variety of asset class and lower commission but you get what you pay for...looking for a different broker.
