IB Suggestions & Improvements

Discussion in 'Interactive Brokers' started by Babak, Aug 26, 2005.

  1. Your reply said "sometime next week". When, to you, is the "next business day"?

As for my second question, since the feed has not been available since Wednesday, I should think you'd be happy to suggest alternatives. Absent that, perhaps someone else has a suggestion.

    Thank you.

  2. I don't give a damn about all this AS LONG AS THEY KEEP THEIR PRIME TICKFEEDS GOING and don't screw up on order processing.

  3. Actually, IBSoft said that it will work next week. Monday is "next week". I know that the wording may not be obvious, but from past experience, I am pretty confident that they will get it back up by then.

I would like to see the OPEN price in TWS.

Also, cross-marginable sub- or sister accounts would be great. By that I mean two (or more) accounts which would be pooled for margin purposes, but otherwise be independent. So, for example, one could have a long-term investment account and a short-term trading account and still use the margin that the long-term holdings offer. Another useful application in a completely different context: some traders with automated systems use the 'cancel all' and 'close all open positions' methods regularly to make sure there are no unwanted positions that there systems did not catch or lost track off. This can only work properly if there is only one system worked per account. Obviously, tracking system performance is much easier if you have a separate account for each system.

Since there is already the possibility to have several accounts, it would only require to combine them for margin purposes.

  5. Halted Stocks

Guys, thanks for starting this thread, and special thanks to def and IBsoft for spending time with us here.

My question/request concerns the ability to timely enter orders to trade stocks as they come off "halt status" Lately (last 2-3 weeks), after the "halt" is lifted, I'm still subject to the "red bar" in my TWS, and when i enter my order, get the "orders may not be entered on halted security" pop-up.

In short, there now many times when the rest of the world has a 3-4 second lead time in trading stocks coming off halt, while my TWS appears "stuck". Can you guys help fix this?

Good point. IB is the only house that I know of that doesn't have Opening prices ... a curious omission.

  10. IMO VERY IMPORTANT

Please give the ability to disable the Auto Logout "Feature"
    or remove it altogether.

It makes no sense anymore for retail customers and it is unnerving me at least 10 times a month with it's popup windows
just to ask me to move it from 4 AM to 3.50 AM or vice versa. LOL

It's some stone-age relict from when TWS was a Win16 binary...
