I would like to have faster backfill to QT and 24 hour excess to TWS andbackfill data during weekends because i do most of my research during the weekend.
I asked this question recently. Are you saying you could not cancel an open order during a halt? That would be very bad and make no sense at all, since the reason for the halt is to make it a fair playing field for all.
I was disappointed to discover that IB does not archive data from futures contracts when they expire, and instead simply disposes of it, so that its historical data offering does includes only the currently active contract, and does not have any data from expired contracts. I would like to see expired futures contracts added to IB's historical data.
if you mean 24 hours service (assistance with orders/trades,etc) it is already 23+ (there is a gap from 20:15 to 21:00 EST) although you need to call our international numbers in Asia or Europe. We are upgrading our systems to link them all together seamlessly so you dial locally and get routed to whatever center is open: completion date aug/sep this year. if you mean true technical support (i.e. help with firewall, java, pc-installations, etc), this support is better in US hours (0800-1800) but can also be accessed for most issues in European, and to a slightly less extent Asia hours. Again, you need to direct dial at present.
just a slight correction to the above post, there is no gap in service as the HK CS desk starts to be staffed at 20:00 EST.
you can cancel open order during the halt. i'm talking about option, where open order canceled automatically, if stock is halted and i'm not sitting next to computer.
