The 5 minute reset during that time will not change in the near term. However, if you need to be up until that time, you may request to change your account to the HK server which resets after 4:15 AM HKT.
Account reinitialization: actual downtime should only be ~1 minute (typical restart time is 40 seconds). We reset all accounts over a ~2 hour period serially, i.e. in a staggered manner. This allows the reset for any specific account to go very quickly. The website explains the process as well. http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/software/systemStatus.php?ib_entity=llc Exchange reset: this is always done during the local exchange downtime so it should not affect your access I dont think you should be out for more than 1 minute or less. Please email me (over E-T) with specifics if your experience is otherwise.
You mean excel with TWS API ? But many people do not have skills to use API. Disconnection from the broker's end is a fundamental function of alert that should be integrated into the TWS workstation
I appreciate that IB has added some CBOT pit traded contracts. Any idea how soon we would be able to trade wheat at CBOT and KCBOT?
No plans at all for KCBOT at all. CBOT wheat should be avail. I don't know why it isnt. wil find out.
Def & IBJ, Thanks for your response ! However, the reset time is not like 5 mins or so as your guys stated. I actually can not login my account from 11:50PM (sometimes starts from 11:55 AM) to 12:30 AM via WebTrader or MobileTrader. I don't trade every night but everytime when I tried to logon during above timeframe I just could not get in my account. The error message is plainly "Server error". I have tried TWS only once but I also got reset during the time I modified my order.
how about a feature that will cancel open orders when tws disconnects.could have option to cancel everything or just certain ones.
lmt orders get cancelled anyways in case of a halt..not sure 'bout other types but i think that's da case for everythin' aside mkt orders.
if order placed before halt -it's not going to be canceled after stock is halted. i know that from my recent very painfull expirience. if you trying to place limit when stock is already halted-then it will be rejected.
