As far as what to post here, the distinction between a bug and a feature is often somewhat blurry. I don't even know which it is sometimes FYI: I tracked down the alarm problem. If you add delete a ticker that has an alarm, the alarm doesn't get deleted, and will still trigger if its conditions are met. I've been told this has been fixed. Until the next release, remember to remove alarms before deleting a ticker.
IBsoft , for the first time I made a transaction on my IRA account and bought some straddles for 24$ stock. Straddle cost about 2k , but my buying power went down by almost 30k(???). I read the story about the GOOD long calls , so I understand the problem that might occur on exp day , but this is the best solution? I think you just punishing yourself(and us) but not allowing more trades. You can come up with " no cash - no exercise" rule , so if one does not have enough cash he will lose the in-the-money gain on last Friday/Saturday. And IB can keep it if they want , I will sign on it and probably many users too. Unless I didn't read it right. Thanks
Please contact the helpdesk. I am not an expert on credit management. (The issue may have to do with prevention of free-riding in case your IRA account is a cash account).
I see the SPX futures contract which is full size I believe, on globex, which trades during globex hours other than when pit is open. Right? Geo.
Okay, how about I would like IB to let me know that it is available on their website. http://www.interactivebrokers.com/cgi-pub/exchange_display_web.pl?einfo=usCME2&file=GLOBEX.html
yes ... for example the SPX , NDX , INDU can be tracked along side their smaller sized e mini counterparts ... on IB
thanks for the info. i'm not up to speed on 'FIX'....i'll have to check with QT and see if this is something they work with. If it completely eliminates having to load/run the Java runtime, that would be a godsend for sure.
re: Global Default for Handling Options at Expiration. I would like to see the above implemented. I'd like to be able to set a -global- default which says "do NOT exercise any options on expiration day....cash them out instead". This would be wonderful for peace of mind, and save a lot of line-by-line work doing it on individual issues one at a time. Unless it's already been added in 851? I've only had that version for a few days...perhaps I missed the feature if it's there. thanks!
sometimes the after hours ( next day session ) for the CME or ECBOT products will show bad "net change on the day" numbers ... I know it does not happen that often but when it does ... ARGHH ... its annoying ( i.e. thursday session overnight in gold YG and ZG have the wrong "net" .. also it seems the mini dow YM has the wrong "net" also maybe "ZB", "ZN" "YI" ... there could even be more ... I do not look at everything )
