IB spreads Europe session vs USA session

  1. I am fairly new to forex. I don't understand why IB seems to have spreads close to 1 pip on eur/usd and generally very good spreads when the USA is sleeping and then the spreads get worse during the most active trading lets say from 7 am onward New York time. I noticed this the last few days...may well be just a coincidence. Should the spread not be better during the most active trading, except right around announcements or extreme volatility? Volume must be highest when USA is in the game (and Europe still in the game through morning New York time).

Also, I needs to quadruple me ruples to pay me bills this month, otherwise I will be on the street come june. For this, I need a spread of 1 on eur-usd and usd-jpy. Can IB forex traders please advise on trends in the spreads...when would it be best for me to trade?

    Thank you in advance
