I can have data feed in the IB simulation account . But when I tried to place an order, there is no feedback from TWS . Say price is now 16000, I place a buy limit at 16020, obviously it should be filled, as the price followed were 16010. But no order filled. What is the reason, is there any setups I should do first in order to be able to simulate trading ?

  2. not sure but cud be u have a protection in place against sendin' lmt orders outside mkt in the original acct. and paper-trader reflects those settings.
    just a guess.

My real-trading account has no problem to place a limit order. And on this simulation account, I can not trade with any type of orders. And I am simulate to trade the same symbol I trade in the real account. really puzzled.

  4. Is this SGXNK by any chance ? I tried via API. Error was something like "Contract can't be valued at this time". Does the simulated trading account only work on US exchanges ?

  5. yes, only works on US. Know someone who was caught on that one too
