Hi, Does anyone have experience with the cash balance when going short with IB? My cash balance flickers with every update. Of course, the total balance is expected to vary through the day, but why the cash holdings, (in the market value of the TWS accounts page). Why do they vary? If I go long I don't expect this to happen. IB claims its due to going short and the stock change in price. I can't understand this. Any help is appreciated. - Please disreagrd this post, I sorted the problem out, its due to movement in a futures contract. I really wish IB would compile a FAQ.
