I don't think you get the point of my question. I was asking why you care so much whether someone bashes IB and then defend it like you would defend your mother being called a whore. What is the motivation for your zealousness? It serves no interest--not even IB's. Even IB occasionally admits it has not been up to snuff in many areas (service, and these 'apologies' are sometimes posted by hardworking reps). We all know the IB model incurs a balance of low costs with minimal support/services for profitability. And that is their motivation, but what is yours?

You're right about one thing, only an 'idiot' would believe IB would put you on its payroll. Believe me, they don't need or want your defending. But a zealot is not in the business of PR.

After you 'read through' my posts, you must've realized that I have made no 'ill-founded' accusations of IB, and that these posters that you attack are not my 'brethren'. So you can't lump me in with those of your adversaries. In fact, I have not accused IB of anything--I like them, or I wouldn't be using them after 7+ years--with and without their problems. Like I said before, it is what it is. My only 'accusation' in this thread is that you, sir, have a mouth full of IB balls and your continuous slurping is starting to garble your speech.

Here is the title of this thread:

IB"security"...nearly cost me my job. awful

Now if someone starts an accusing thread title like that, alarm bells go off in my head. There have been numerous instances where people will start accusatory threads against IB and they aren't merited.

Why is this person bringing this information up in a public forum? My guess is to pressure IB into doing what they want. But when they bring it up in a public forum, they have to make a reasonable effort to provide enough detail that they can be believed. So far, the original poster has not done this.

I guess I respond to these anti-IB threads because I can't stand it when people don't take responsibility for their own actions. It reminds me of the democrats' attempts to bail-out subprime borrowers.

As for your comment about IB ball lickers doing the whining, think again. Who is doing the whining and bitching?

  4. Yeah, I think I got the point of your post. I'm wondering whether you forgot what you said. Let me repeat it for you:

In other words, if someone bashes IB they deserve it. Excuse me, it wasn't "deserve", it was "DESERVE".

I suppose you realize that this opinion is YOUR opinion only. That some people, including me, think IB deserves FAIRNESS. I am going to defend IB where I think that FAIRNESS is not being served. It's that simple.

The rest of your post doesn't merit a response. It's little more than bashing and personal attack.....a strategy that you evidently approve of.

  5. Calling other people's bs is a good thing. Don't understand why you would think 'defending' the accused is the same as keeping the ignorant or deceitful honest.

Oldtrader is correct. Most of the bitching you hear about comes from either ignorance or plain malicious effort from uneducated customers. This thread could be a good example.

We still haven't heard IB's side of the story. In most cases, so far, IB has always had a good reply to accusations made on these forums.

I don't get it... I took over $100K from my IB account from time to time and I got it under 6 hours EVERY SINGLE TIME... electronically wired to my bank...

Why would you have this problem?

One of the many reasons I love IB is that I get my money out within hours all done via a few clicks instead of sending letters and calling people...

Did you join the security device program???

  7. Some IB customers go out of their way to defend IB against unfair or untruthful or exaggerated criticism, because they correctly recognize that such unfounded attacks could be a threat to IB, and to the opportunities which IB provides its customers. My own defenses of IB are motivated by the desire to protect these opportunities. I believe that there are some grounds for legitimate constructive criticism, and areas where IB needs to change, but I also believe that much, if not most of the criticism IB receives, is unfair and/or untruthful and/or exaggerated.

  8. IF the OP is telling the truth with his posts, then he most definitely has a legit complaint. He says they sent him $100k, but keep promising the rest, and it's now been over three weeks since he requested the funds.

WTF? How in the world can that even come close to making sense? There is nothing anyone can say in IB's defense of that behavior, IF IT'S TRUE.

  9. Whats it with all this flameing?

The OP said, the IB institutional clients head-honcho is promising him his money since 3 weeks, and he only recieved 100k until now. If he tells the truth, this is an obvious fck-up by IB, what are you even discussing about.

You still aren't getting it. In your response to my quote, you conveniently left out the word "maybe" as to continue to group me in with the "IB Bashers". You know what "maybe" means. Perhaps I should've emphasized it as well.

I think everyone deserves fairness. And that you don't experience service or technical problems w/ IB does not mean they don't exist(and perhaps you'll feel foolish when and "IF" you finally do experience an IB fuck up). And maybe every gripe about IB is not merited (I don't know--and I don't think you know either), you seem to take argument of them all. And that is why I asked YOU personally the original question. Don't try to read anything else into it. It really has more to do w/ you and why you give a damn, rather than IB in itself. And for that I regret hastily interrupting this thread. :)

But like I said before, and I'll put it in bold so OldTrader can see it:

    I like IB...
