I have no need for penny stocks (or any stock for that matter) as I only trade futures. But I require an universal acct for currency transactions. As I understand it, this leaves my acct vulnerable to the stock "pump/dump scheme". I could go to FUT only acct, but I need access to currency transactions. Will IB be implementing some sort of mechanism for those of us that do not want or need stock transactions to turn it off? Thereby eliminating the threat of this particular "scheme".
bunk, no help, I already mentioned an idea of an "advanced pump&dump" that is not limited to penny or illiquid stocks. only a matter of time until the crooks find out !
You have not mentioned it. When you "mention" it, I will evaluate. So your post has no value to me. Besides, won't be a pump&dump if it's not illiquid.
can some one from IB tell us,how this setup, with security device, will work in case of disconnection between TWS and IB servers? lately i personally have at least 3 to 10 short disconnections every day during trading hours. i have online acount with couple banks and i like their approach with online security-they keep the records of i guess Ip addresses from which you are accessing your account and if you try to access from different location-you have to go thru very long list of security questions. if IB can do same-it will be much more convinient for trader.record from where we login into accounts and if location changes-you must then use security device in order to login. thank you!
For some reason the 'check' box for US stocks is greyed out.. (see pic) Was hoping to get a response here from IB Sal... perhaps I'll open a ticket.
I checked mine as well, and all the stock permissions I have setup are greayed out as well (not just US) Might be a customer support issue (OH NO!!!!! LOL) To get those permissions deselected
I think you have to sign on to those countries in a similar manner as being allowed to trade options.
I couldn't find a response in this thread so I asked a CSR via chat if all the client sub-accounts of my friends and family FA account need to get their own STP devices and I was told they do. Can anyone verify this? My grandfather needs to get one of these for his IRA????
