IB Quote Problems

Quotes on AMAT all crossed up today: Bid higher than offer. Offer lower than bid and etc. I miss one opportunity after another due to this on going problem. It is like trying to fly an airplane while facing the rear, you are behind every thing that is going on.

Got a reply from same source regarding a time frame. I was a bit surprised but we can always hope: "A week".

 

I reckon joining another broker like tradestation, their commissions are pretty close as well, IB seems to have an unforgivable, unresolvable problem, dont matter how cheap the commision is, i wouldnt trade even if they paid me with their often messed up quotes

As far as I can tell IB has a somewhat substantial number of traders working for them, or through Timber Hill. I am sure that they are not plagued by this recurring problem of quote feed. Do they simply get their quotes from other source, and if that's the case, why can't we get quotes from the same place?

IB's Timber Hill goups trading is computerized so to make things clear there is not a room of guys sending in trades. I spoke to someone last night that said changes are being made and he thinks it should be resolved very quickly (i'm hoping new code/hardware will go in over the weekend).

 

I have faith in IB. Just be patient. IB customers have been spoiled over the last year. This is just a bump in the road. Take the time to think what the TWS was a couple of years ago and what we use to pay in commissions. We have seen incredible improvements! I expect that things will only get better.

 

Complaints about bad quotes seem to refer to stock quotes only.
