  4. only concerns active traders who use up alot of

    quotes daily ...

might force me to go to a quote service during the day

    instead of IB ....

thank god I still have another IB account to use for quote

    emergency 's

  7. I started getting these popups too. This is a post from the IB user forum:

    >>while I was trading using standalone TWS today, the system was halted and all market data dissapeared. And I got following message:

Rejected-Max number of market data subscriptions reached.

I immediately sent an email to IB and got a reply saying:
Customers are limited to 10,000 quotes on a daily basis.
Once you have reached this limit, you will not be able to access any more<<

This is bad news. I check quotes all day with my auto-order system. Need to rig another quote provider, I s'pose...

10000 quotes-what exactly it mean? you have enter 10000 symbols in your TWS or one ticker price was blink for 10K times))))?
    can anyone explain it?

    Thank you!

  9. I think it means every time you send a reqMktData() it counts as 1 quote.

I scan hundreds of stocks and issue 40 data requests, then cancel and send 40 more. All day long. It gets to 10k after 250 times.

At least I'm guessing that is the situation. I've been doing it for months with no problem...

i was about to do same thing combined to request market depth, etc)))))))looks like i was little late for party and have to work now again to reprogramm all this sh..t....and maybe look for separate datafeed. that sucks...
    Thanks for info!
