IB question: this contract can only be closed ...

    Last week I tried to buy CTDC stock, but IB said: "this contract can only be closed.". What's that?

    Sounds like your account has become restricted and you are only allowed to close positions and can't open any new ones. Have you had problems trading anything else?

    No problems with other securities, only this one. Pretty strange.

    i had that with CTDC as well, except trying to short.

    there is bunch of stocks with this issue at IB. we did talk about very long time ago and nothing was done. i did not remember all of them, but there is 5-7 stocks from nasdaq and nyse. i know this,because when i request a data for those stocks it's fire back with an error. i can come back tomorrow with exact list,if anyone interested...
    as far, as i remember i'm having same issues with NOOF,ZINC,NXTM..
