After ib put my account to close only, I opened a new account. Three weeks later, ib froze the new account too. The problem came from I ignored an inquiry about a 50-share trade. IB flagged that trade, asking me to explain. I did not answer, since it is a small trade. Then all problems came. It is hard to talk directly to ib staff. Ib is so big that it does not care losing customers. I am looking for another broker, but not easy to find that matches my need
Hmm, and? This can hardly be the full story. What stock was it? Why would they ask you to explain. Did you do something you were not supposed to do? In 20 years with IB have I not been asked even once to explain a trade. And I bet I have placed more than 100 times as many trades in those 20 years with IB than you have.
Just a cross trade with my another client. Ib detected the two accounts are from the same IP address, managing by the same person.so ib froze all accounts from my iP. In the past, ib only froze the account that received the inquiry.
This is a serious thread yet your post reminded me of a famous saying Marriage is a great institution, but I'm not ready for an institution. Mae West
